Overview

ecoScorecard is a fast, easy-to-use web tool that searches a client's product database, allows users to evaluate specific products against five environmental rating system requirements and document their findings. ecoScorecard runs independently of a hosting client's web site, but is created in cooperation with the manufacturer and is updated with their information on a frequent basis. ecoScorecard provides search results that can be downloaded at the time of the initial search, or a user can save his/her information for a period of 1 year.

ecoScorecard is the fastest, easiest, most advanced way available that’s completely free to the end user, to search, evaluate and document product information against five environmental rating systems (LEED NC, CI, CS, EB, Home, and LEED NC & CI for Canada), Green Guidelines for Healthcare (GGHC), Labs21, Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and can calculate the necessary environmental information of a product and show how that product directly contributes to credits in a particular standard.

Create an Account

To create an account,

  1. From the homepage click the Create Account text under the login area or click on the Create Account button on the bottom of the page.
  2. Fill in all required fields. Note, your email is used as your Username.
  3. Next, click on Sign up to be logged in.
  4. You are now ready to Search

Note: All the fields are mandatory. A user is shown a warning message if any mandatory fields are left empty when user clicks Sign up.

Logout of ecoScorecard

To log off, the user can click Logout, which is located at the top right of the screen at any stage.

Please Note, if the user does not use the ecoScorecard for 30 minutes, the user will be logged out automatically.

Forgot Password

If you forgot your password, don’t fret. Click on Forgot Password? on the top right of your screen and password reset link will be immediately emailed to you.

Search in ecoScorecard

You may search through ecoScorecard in a few different ways.

  1. From the homepage click the Search button on the bottom right of the screen which will take you to our Search page.
  2. Then use the drop down menus and keyword search and checkboxes and click Search to find the products that you are looking for.
  3. Another option is to type a name, keyword or sku in the quicksearch textbox on the homepage and click go, which will give you automatic results.
  4. Results are then displayed on the page

Note: Search items are all cumulative. If no results are returned please loosen your search criteria.

Refine Search in ecoScorecard

To refine your search,

  1. From the Search results page click on the Refine Search button
  2. A light box will appear which displays your refining search options.
  3. By using the drop down menu, keyword and check boxes, and clicking Search, your selection will be narrowed down.

Note: Search items are all cumulative. If no results are returned please loosen your search criteria.

Adding a product to your evaluation / project

To add a project,
  1. From the Search results page check the boxes to the left of the product image then click Add to include them in your evaluation/project.
  2. Note, if you are logged in you will have a drop down menu that will allow you to Add the products to a new project or any of your existing projects.
  3. To go back, please click on the Back button

Evaluating a product

To evaluate a project,

  1. From the Project page, fill in price, quantity and select a manufacturer zip code of the product, (only if multiple exist).
  2. Note, this is needed to verify if the product can gain Regional Materials contributions.
  3. Next, add the zip code of the project. If you are logged in and have already created a project this is already done for you, and the system uses the zip code of the created project.
  4. Note, this is needed to verify if the product can gain Regional Materials contributions.
  5. Next, check the boxes below that correspond to the rating systems that you want to evaluate against.
  6. Next, click on Evaluate for an evaluation of the products selected or click on Save to save your selections to your selected project.
  7. Note, if you click on Save and you are an unregistered user, you will be sent to a login page, where you can login or register for an account. If you are logged in and have selected to Save to a new project you will be sent to the project registration page. (In either case your search will be saved and added to your account)

Creating a Project

To create a project,

  1. Click My Projects on the main menu.
  2. Next click New Project on the bottom of your project list to start a new project.
  3. Next, you will need to fill in the required data and check which rating systems you would like to evaluate products for and click on Create.
  4. You will be then sent to the Search page to begin adding products to your project.

Note: All the fields are mandatory. A user is shown a warning message if any mandatory fields are left empty when user clicks Create.

Editing a Project

To modify a project,

  1. Click My Projects on the main menu and your project list will be displayed.
  2. Click on Edit Project to the right of the list to edit the project details or your products within that project.
  3. Next, update any of the information necessary and click on Save.
  4. Next, you may click on Evaluate to display your documentation for your updated project.

Deleting a Project

To delete a project,

  1. Click MyProjects on the main menu to view your project list.
  2. Click the trash can icon to the far right of the screen which corresponds to the project you would like to delete
  3. A confirmation dialog box opens.
  4. Click OK to delete.
  5. Click Cancel to cancel the operation.
  6. The project list then re-appears without the deleted project.

What is ecoScorecard?

Does it cost anything to use ecoScorecard?

No, this is a free service provided to you by the manufacturer.

Can I save my search for products?

Yes, but you are required to register to save any searches/projects.

How long will my information be saved?

Your information will be saved for up to 1 year from the last time saved.

How many projects can I create?

An unlimited amount of projects can be saved in the system.

Will the manufacturer contact me after I register?

No, your information is secure and will not be used to contact you unless you specify that you would like to be contacted. Please review our privacy policy and terms of use for specifics.

Which rating systems can ecoScorecard be use to evaluate products for?

Currently ecoScorecard evaluates products against all LEED rating systems (i.e. NC v2.2, CI, CS, EB, LEED for Canada NC and CI), CHPS, GGHC, LABS21 and compliance for all prevalent 3rd Party Certifications.

Are Residential rating systems included on ecoScorecard?

By January 1, 2008, all prevalent residential homes rating systems including but not limited to LEED H, LEED ND and NAHB.

Does ecoScorecard produce the documentation needed for Submittal?

ecoScorecard produces a specific product’s documentation, which can be attached to your LEED on-line template or other rating systems documentation requirements.

How do you contact ecoScorecard support?

If any problems arise please contact us at support@ecoScorecard.com and we will get back to you ASAP during normal business hours. Users may send in feedback 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Will ecoScorecard work on a Mac?

Yes, ecoScorecard is a web-based application that works on both PC and Mac platforms.

What browsers can I use with ecoScorecard?

ecoScorecard has been optimized for Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, but is viewable on almost all browsers.
